Wednesday Sparklers
In honor of
the fourth (even though it was yesterday), consider sparklers. You may have
used some or seen some yesterday.
Well, you can
have a little Fourth of July every time you do a rond de jambe en l’air.
Imagine the beautiful circular trail that a sparker leaves in the air when you
move it in a circular pattern – now imagine that your rond de jambe leaves the
same thing in the air.
This works
especially well for the small, quick rond de jambes that are often used in
small jumps.
From the Big Blue Book of Ballet Secrets
Secret #22f:
“Imagine a circular sparkler trail in
the air during a rond de jambes en l’air.”

Quote of the Day:
“Every woman
in this world wears a little sparkle, some in their dress, and some in their
eyes.”
