Marvelous
Monday Height
Remember
when you had your height measured when you were a child? Your mom or dad would
take you to the wall or doorframe where previous measurements were documented
in pencil. You were anxious to show that you had grown another inch, so you’d
press your back against the wall and work hard to stretch upward.
This is a
good feeling to remember when you are working on establishing good dance
posture. Of course, the “up” should be up and slightly forward, with an
accompanying energy down, but the general feeling is correct.
Feel like
you are being measured!
From the Big Blue Book of Ballet Secrets
Secret #1bbb:
“Imagine the feeling of stretching
upward when having your height measured.”

Quote of the Day:
“It’s
probably better and more accessible to measure change readiness rather than
change progress.”
