Back in the day, each day of the week had its own designated task. Monday was frequently wash day. So in the honor of those bygone days, I’m going to discuss washing machines.
You will remember there should never be a back-and-forth washing machine action in a promenade: http://balletwebb.blogspot.com/search?q=washing+machine. Well, that’s not the only place where washing machines are forbidden.
There should never be a washing machine agitation movement in a rond de jambe. This happens when the body is insufficiently lifted, causing the torso to “agitate” back and forth. Not good.
Maintain the correct lift, along with the correct two-way energy and there will be no washing machines in your rond de jambes.
