Sunday Butterflies
Today’s blog is about The Butterfly Effect. It is a theory
in physics that says that a single butterfly flapping its wings causes a ripple
effect around the world, and theoretically can become the impetus for a hurricane.
For those of you who are scientifically minded, there are many articles on the
internet describing this concept in scientific and mathematical terms. Here is
one of the simpler ones: http://www.wisegeek.org/what-is-the-butterfly-effect.htm#didyouknowout
I have often written Sunday blogs about kindness and how
important it is to our life and everyone else’s life. The Butterfly Effect is
another way to look at it. One single act of kindness is likely to produce
another, and another, and so on and so on.
Usually, we never know how far our small gestures go, and that’s okay.
This week CBS News did a story on The Butterfly Effect and
what happened when two young girls were given fifty dollars each with the
request that they do something with the money that would make a
difference. See the story below in the Link of the Day.
So today’s thought is this: Do something whenever you can
that will make a difference. It doesn't have to be a big thing, it just has to
be some thing.
From the Big Blue Book of Ballet Secrets:
Secret #67:
“Think about putting The Butterfly Effect to use.”

Quote
of the Day:
“Each smallest act of kindness,
reverberates across great distances and spans of time --affecting lives unknown
to the one whose generous spirit, was the source of this good echo. Because
kindness is passed on and grows each time it’s passed until a simple courtesy
becomes an act of selfless courage, years later, and far away.”
