Wisdom
Sometimes it
helps to seek out the wisdom of others – especially older others. Your
grandparents, older people in your church or school, etc. Those who have lived
many years have many pieces of wisdom to share, but usually you must ask for
it.
If you look
online you will find many articles and quotes from those who have lived a long
life and have lots of precious pieces of insight to share. Here are a few from www.mentalfloss.com:
“If you’re positive you can get
through it OK. When you think negatively, you’re putting poison on your body.
Just smile. They say laughter is the best medicine there is.”
“Just keep going.”
“Find a role model and aim to achieve
even more than they could ever do.”
“I try not to worry. I just try to
live.”
“Always listen to the other person.
You’ll learn something. Try to sit back, because you will learn a lot more
listening to others than telling them what you know.”
That’s just
a sample of the wisdom and advice you can find. So when you feel discouraged,
seek out an older person (or find their words online).
