Technical
Tuesday Corrugator
The
corrugator muscle is located in the forehead, above the eyes. It serves to draw
the middle end of the eyebrow downward, and is responsible for wrinkling the forehead when one is worried or thinking deep thoughts. It is sometimes
called the “frowning muscle”.
Unless a
dancer is portraying a worried character, use of the corrugator (wrinkling the
forehead) is not something that should be evident. Unfortunately, for all those
worriers out there, it is a commonly observed problem in dancers.
Relax the
face – do not allow the forehead look like a piece of corrugated cardboard!
