Fun Friday Two Ls
When shifting weight from two feet to one foot, the body’s weight must move over the supporting leg. No surprise here. The problem is how that shift occurs.
Think of two Ls: Lateral or Leaning. The shift must occur laterally – that is, sideways in a level line. The definition of lateral from Merriam Webster is: “extending from side to side - the lateral axis of an airplane”. At no time should the shift of weight be produced by leaning, since this ruins the correct alignment.
Think of those old credit card machines. They slid laterally over the card to take its impression.
