Technical Tuesday Brainiac
Dancers are smart. We all know that.
Dancers couldn’t remember combinations and choreography, plus put it all
together in a coherent whole if they weren’t brainiacs. But….
There are those times when the
choreography is daunting and difficult to remember, or it’s just one of those
days. Cheer up! Your brain has the capacity to store everything – everything. And it does. So what’s the
problem?
The problem isn’t assimilating and
storing the information, it’s retrieving
it. That’s correct. If you have seen it and experienced it, it is probably
right there, lurking in the depths of your brain. Getting it out is the problem. And that’s why
memory clues, and imagery help. Devices like these provide a pathway for locating the information
you need out of all that stuff your
brain has stored.
I guess you could say the brain is
a great hoarder!
