Mad Monday Marshmallows
I’ve talked before about imagining a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in between each vertebrae of the spine. This helps dancers lengthen their alignment and gives them a good resiliency for their movements.
Now think about all the joints in your body and imagine that each of those joints has a marshmallow cushioning it. Concentrate on what that would feel like. It feels good, doesn’t it? It removes excess tension from the body – and that is so often a problem for dancers.
Marshmallows! Good for more than hot chocolate.
From the Big Blue Book of Ballet Secrets:
Ballet Secret #1ooo:
“Imagine marshmallows in each joint.”

Quote of the
Day:
"Watch the sunrise at least once a year, put a lot of marshmallows in
your hot chocolate, lie on your back and look at the stars, never buy a coffee
table you can't put your feet on, never pass up a chance to jump on a
trampoline, don't overlook life's small joys while searching for the big
ones."
