Sunday Looking
In this world that sometimes seems to be dissolving into headlines
of meanness, I offer this thought: Be
the one that makes a tiny change for the better in the world.
Start here: Whenever
you meet someone for the first time, find something nice to say about
them. Sounds simple, and it is. It just requires looking. This is similar to
the idea from last Sunday’s blog about finding hidden treasures. Then you can extend this thought to people
you already know. When was the last time
you paid a friend a sincere compliment?
So look for the good.
Perhaps that stranger or friend is wearing a lovely dress, or has
beautiful eyes, or a great voice. Maybe
you witnessed a kind deed they did for someone else. Find the good and tell them you noticed.
Look for it and you will find it.
From the Big Blue Book of Ballet Secrets:
Motivational Secret #27:
“Look for good things
in others and tell them.”

Quote
of the Day:
“The problem, often not discovered until late in life, is that when you
look for things in life like love, meaning, motivation, it implies they are
sitting behind a tree or under a rock. The most successful people in life
recognize, that in life they create their own love, they manufacture their own
meaning, they generate their own motivation. For me, I am driven by two main
philosophies, know more today about the world than I knew yesterday. And lessen
the suffering of others. You’d be surprised how far that gets you.”
