Monday Buttons
In our constant quest for good posture we should always
remember the three buttons.
The first button is the belly button and I have mentioned
before how it is treated like an elevator button – it should be pushed in. The other two buttons are in the derrière. These two are related to the action of the
muscles in the seat when the legs are turned out: an indentation forms on each side of the derrière
when the turn-out is correctly engaged.
Three buttons! As one
of my students so cleverly observed: the
two in the seat are “butt”-ons. Proving
once again that there is no such thing as a dumb dancer.

remember the three buttons.”
