Fun Friday Fingers

Fun Friday Fingers
Yes, it is finally Friday!  Today, on this fabulous Friday I’m going to talk about fingers.  Often these ten essential items are ignored.  Or, they are a repository for tension.  Instead, they should be the final glorious embellishment of the arms and hands – the fingers always complete the picture.
To bring more awareness to the fingers, imagine that each finger is lightly filled with helium.  Lighter than air and filled all the way to the fingertips.  Think about how this would feel and how the port de bras would be changed if the fingers were indeed, filled (lightly) like a small balloon.
Remember also that the fingers lead the movement of the arms – not the elbows or the wrists.

From the Big Blue Book of Ballet Secrets:

Secret #6q
“Imagine that the fingers are lightly filled with helium.”
