Fun Friday Tightrope
Sous-sus can be a difficult position for beginners to
understand. The feet don’t cross completely, only partially, but one foot is
directly in front of the toes of the other foot. Also, one foot should never be
standing (ouch!) on the other.
I’ve blogged before about how the feet make a heart shape in
sous-sus, and the best way to achieve this is to imagine being on a tightrope. On
a tightrope, each foot is solidly on the rope, with one foot exactly in front
of the other.
If this doesn’t happen on a tightrope, there better be a net
below!

Ballet Secret #2y:
“In sous-sus,
imagine standing on a tightrope.”

“There is nothing wrong with loving your
work and wanting to apply yourself to it. But there is so much more to life.
Balance is what is important, maintaining balance.”
