Sunday Treasures
Dancers often lead solitary lives. It is difficult to form
friendships in a competitive environment, but it is not impossible. And it is
important to have good friends, and clinical studies are confirming this fact
(see today’s link).
Good friends are treasures. This is especially true for long-standing
friends – those who have been at our side through milestones and difficulties. As
a famous quote states, they “are the ones who walk in when others walk out”.
Think about your friends today. And if, in the coming months, you find
yourself in a new town, or a new environment, open yourself to making new
friends. Not every encounter will become a long-standing friendship but there
are many other wonderful variations.
And for those special, over-many-years friends, be grateful.
Think about how they enrich your life, and don’t hesitate to let them know.
They’ll understand.
