Sunday Singing

Sunday Singing

It is true that the way we feel when we wake up each morning – grumpy or happy – sets the tone for the rest of the day. This explains expressions like “he got up on the wrong side of the bed”. Especially for those of us who wake early to the jolting ring of an alarm, the day often seems to start out on a less-than-cheerful note.

Well, speaking of notes, think about birds. They greet each new day with a song. A song that sounds like joy set to music.  Birds embrace the beginning of every new day – one with no mistakes in it yet – as a blank canvas of wonderful potential and surprises.

Birds sing their hearts out as the sun climbs over the horizon, greeting the dawn as if it is a long lost friend, and setting a tone of peace and contentment for the day to come. Tomorrow morning, take a minute to listen to the birds.

I want to greet all of my new days like that, no matter how early the alarm clock rings.

From the Big Blue Book of Ballet Secrets:

Motivational Secret #50:
“Think about how birds greet each new day by singing.”
