Sunday Counting
I ran across today’s quote from Albert Einstein, and since I
consider him to be a rather reputable source, I thought I’d use it as a jumping
off point for this blog.
How many things in our lives don’t really count? Do we fight
about small grievances, petty annoyances, trivial issues and allow these things
to infect the rest of our day – or even, the rest of our life? We all do this,
I’m afraid. It helps to remember that whatever it is that seems so bad right
now probably isn’t all that important in the grand scheme of things.
Then there are those things that really do count – the ones Einstein said you can’t count. I think he meant
the intangible things like love, beauty, etc; and also those fleeting moments
of wonder and joy that we don’t see coming but end up becoming treasured, indelible
memories.
And since today is part of a holiday celebration for many
families, take time to look around the table and notice some things that really count.
