Saturday and Stuff on Head
I’ve talked before about the necessity of “pulling up” from
the top of the head as an essential element of correct posture. Another thing that helps a dancer’s postural alignment
is to imagine balancing an object on top
of the head.
Of course this only works for upright positions, but it is
still useful. The “something” can be a
glass of water, a tomato (see cat above), a book, etc. Anything at all.
This image can be combined with the idea of pulling up from
the top of head for maximum impact.
