Fun Friday Finger Triangle

Fun Friday Finger Triangle

Here we go again with yet another postural idea!

It is often difficult to determine whether the pelvis is correctly aligned – not tucked under (gasp!), or tilted backwards (groan). So here is another way to check:

Form an upside-down triangle shape with your fingers: thumbs together, index fingers touching. Now place this finger triangle on your lower abdomen.  The triangle should be perfectly vertical, not tilting forward towards the floor, nor tilting backwards to look at the ceiling.

Voila! A finger triangle for alignment.

From the Big Blue Book of Ballet Secrets
Secret #1aaaa:
“Use the finger triangle to visualize an aligned pelvis.”

Quote of the Day:
“Sometimes we can’t quite put our finger on something important because we’ve got all of our fingers wrapped around a bunch of other things that are not important.”
