Saturday Superstition Female
Previously I talked about the belief
that the first patron to enter a theater shouldn’t be one holding a comp
ticket. This was said to bring financial ruin to the production. Here’s another
one:
It was once believed that a woman
shouldn’t be the first customer to enter a theater. Wow. This certainly makes

The full story about this is available

Scroll down to “Box Office Superstitions”
for all the details. Apparently it all started in 1866 during a 5 ½ production
called The Black Crook which became
known as the first American musical (see the Link of the Day below).
From the Big
Blue Book of Ballet Secrets
Superstition #125:
“It was once believed
that a woman shouldn’t be the first customer to enter a theater.”
