Super Sunday Color
I have blogged a lot on Sundays about being grateful, being
kind and being aware. But just how do we actually do these things? Like dance,
it takes practice.
Here is an exercise to heighten awareness. Every day pick a
color. It can be any color at all: red, blue, purple, etc. Then focus on seeing
things of that color all day. It doesn’t take long before anything
purple will absolutely jump out at you and you won’t even be thinking about
looking for it.
This is how awareness works. Focusing on one thing for a
short period seems to “kick start” the brain into registering that particular
thing whenever it appears. Suddenly being aware isn’t difficult at all. It is
automatic.
You might even enjoy the colorful treasure hunt.
