Saturday Statute

There is a saying that states “getting old is not for sissies”. There is an almost identical one for ballet, today’s Statute #105: Ballet is not for sissies.

Those of us who have studied ballet for many years find this to  be blatantly obvious. But because ballet, when performed well, appears so effortless, it is not surprising that many beginners are shocked to learn how difficult it is.

Therefore, Ballet Statute #105 should be posted in all dance studios, and maybe a bumper sticker would also be a good idea. All in the interest of full disclosure.
