Sunday Candle
Often we bring light or inspiration or kindness into the
world indirectly. You may have done that, or noticed someone else doing it. You
don’t always have to be the candle – the one in the spotlight, the one doing. In other words, small acts,
small, seemingly insignificant things can transmit (reflect) a message of
motivation or inspiration.
Teachers are told to “model the behavior you want”, meaning we should do what we want our students to do.
But teachers are also told to remember that we are teaching every minute we are in the presence of a
student or students. Sometimes the most important things they learn from us are
not in our lesson plan. The thought can be daunting!
But it is an example of how we can spread light or
inspiration or kindness in everything we do, as long as we try to be a little
bit aware of how our own behavior can create ripples of inspiration for others.
