Thursday and Teresa Bandettini
Born on August 11, 1765, Teresa Landucci Bandettini was also known by her Arcadian name, Amarilli Etrusca. She was an Italian dancer, who was also a poet.
Hence, she was often called “the literary ballerina”.
Her early
life was a sad one. Orphaned by the age of seven, her first dance performances
were done under the name of Amarilli
Etrusca.
When she married Lucchese Pietro Landucci, her performances shifted from
dance to reciting verse. She would create and present poems on the spot from
suggestions made by the audience.
During her lifetime, she became known as an important writer. Her portrait was painted many times and In 2002, it was discovered that Paganini had dedicated six lost sonatas to her.

She died in
Lucca on April 6, 1837.
