Sunday Burden

Sunday Burden

Continuing this holiday season’s series on giving, I present burdens. We all have them, from internal to external to simple ones like carrying too many packages all at once, or not having a hand free to open a door.

Consider lightening someone else’s burden this week. It doesn’t have to be anything big, just take the opportunity when it presents itself – and it will. Be a compassionate listener, hold a door open, or take a small gift to a shut-in. Sometimes a genuine smile at the right time can relieve a burden for someone.

Like the Publix ad (see today’s link) that is running right now – where the young boy invites an elderly neighbor to share Christmas dinner – offer whatever you can to make someone else’s burden a little lighter.

“Lighten someone’s burden.”

Quote of the Day:

“Learn to light a candle in the darkest moments of someone’s life. Be the light that helps others see; it is what gives life its deepest significance.”
