Fun Friday Tennis Prop
Props are useful in the ballet class,
and today’s idea involves the readily available tennis ball. These are useful
in several ways, but today let’s talk about how they can help dancers locate
those elusive “inner thigh” muscles.
Simply have students lie on the floor on
their stomachs, with their legs turned out and feet in first position. Place a
tennis ball between the thighs, lengthen the legs and at the same time apply
pressure to the tennis ball using the muscles of the thighs.
Presto! Inner thighs located.
From the Big
Blue Book of Ballet Secrets
Ballet Secret #2011:
“Use a tennis ball to help
locate the inner thighs.”
