Terminology Tuesday Monter
The term monter [mawn-TAY] means “to rise” or “to mount”. It refers to moving
(rising) onto demi-pointe or full pointe.
It is a term of the French school, and I
have heard it used, but not frequently, in America.
But now you’ll recognize monter when and if you hear it!
