Superstitious Saturday Monku
In Japan they wish performers good luck by saying “monku monku monku”. Monku is the Japanese word for complain, so apparently this is like telling an actor to “break a leg” – a negative actually means a positive.
I’ve never heard monku monku monku, but then I’ve never performed in Japan. It is interesting that it is a three word repeat, like toi toi toi, which I have heard quite often.
