Wacky Wednesday Both Legs
You may remember Ballet Secret #15dd: All beats
involve both legs and have a rebound. Well, today’s idea is just a bit
simpler: always, and I mean always, beat using both legs.
This may sound simple, but due to the
nature of learning and remembering beats, we tend to think about only one leg
beating. For instance, in an entrechat quatre, we often focus on the front leg
(the one that will also land in front). This helps us finish in the correct
place, but does nothing to help the beats themselves.
Instead, whenever you are doing beats,
or learning new ones, concentrate on doing them with both legs. Always.

Blue Book of Ballet Secrets

“Always beat with both legs.”
