Wacky Wednesday Bull’s Eye Bandana

Wacky Wednesday Bull’s Eye Bandana

Common problems in dance include elbows that droop and knees that don’t always face in the correct direction. We have all experienced, or know about these things. Well, here’s a fun way to draw attention to these areas that will aid in correcting them:

Take a light-colored bandana or piece of fabric and, using a permanent marker, draw a bulls-eye or a regular eye on it. Now tie the bandana on the elbow with the eye facing back when the arms are in second. Or, tie it around the knee with the eye looking out in the correct turnout alignment.

Each of these will help bring awareness to the proper placement of the arms and legs.

From the Big Blue Book of Ballet Secrets
Secret #20dd:
“Tie a bull’s-eye bandana around problem areas of the body.”
