Mad Monday Scrape
In a rond de jambe, the foot takes a

cuts a straight, unwavering line.
Not only must the path be straight, the
foot must be perfectly aligned as it moves along this track through first
position. Unfortunately, in a rond de jambe the angle of the foot when it is
fully stretched in derriere often doesn’t fully resolve and the front edge of
the arch scrapes through first with the little toes not touching the floor.
Scary.
The bottom of the foot must be in full
contact the floor in first position. Full contact. No scraping through allowed.
