Terminology Tuesday Middle
A term you seldom in the U.S.
is au milieu [oh-mee-LYUH]. This
French term means in the middle or center.
After barre, dancers move au milieu – or
into the middle of the room for center practice. I’ve always heard simply “come
into the center” or something similar, even when I danced outside the U.S.
But it’s always enlightening and fun to
increase one’s vocabulary!
