Mad Monday Pop-Tart Passé

Mad Monday Pop-Tart Passé

On Saturday I talked about how a tendu should never leave the floor and become a “Pop-Tart tendu”. Well, today’s subject involves a time when you can use a Pop-Tart movement: Passé.

In order to pirouette effectively, the working foot must move to passé quickly – very quickly. Almost like a Pop-Tart coming out of a toaster. This is the proper place for that slingshot type of movement. It must be well targeted, also. The working foot must go directly to passé, it must not pass “Go” or “collect $200” (a Monopoly reference for those who are unfamiliar). It must not take a scenic route, wandering out away from the supporting leg – it must spring directly to the knee.

Remember: Pirouettes require Pop-Tart passés!
