Saturday Statute

Saturday Statute
Ballet technique is an amazing thing.  It has developed over centuries to become what it is today:  an amazingly effective system for training the body to dance.  And it works on almost anyone’s body, assuming they can walk into a classroom.  Some dancers may take longer than others to achieve a high level of competence, but the system works, and works well.  As I say to my students, it is so effective I could sell it with an 800 number.
Of course, this assumes a high level of motivation from the dance student.  Which brings us to Ballet Statute #16:  “Dance technique only works if you do.”  It requires a daily commitment, not a casual once-in-a-while attitude.  A dancer must work even when they don’t feel like it.  But with the right motivation, becoming a beautiful dancer is accessible to just about anyone.

From the Big Blue Book of Ballet Secrets:

Statute #16
“Dance technique only works if you do.”
